Luke // 1 year portraits

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you’ll ever know.”

Winnie-the-Pooh

I have loved getting to know this adorable little boy and his parents this year. I got to take his first-Christmas pictures this last winter and was beyond thrilled when I got asked to do his one-year photos! I've spent some recent Tuesdays hanging out with Luke and watching his curiosity as he explores his world. I love his smile and how readily he gives it.

Favorite smile! Such a sweet boy!

This face cracked me up! He was watching someone walk by... when I found it during editing I was laughing so hard :)

It is obvious that this little fella is a well loved baby. I love seeing how he interacts with his parents and how their love for him is so beautifully evident. Happy first birthday Mr. Luke!

The Little Moments

This post doesn't need many words, I was watching my siblings at someone else's house the other day and I just took a bunch of pictures of little things that were lovely to me.

Mini-Me

I just started working on editing family pictures, I didn't get very far when I saw this. Bethany had gone around the corner when Ben took the picture of me. She came back and I took the one of her. I realized later that she did the exact same pose as me! Such a silly billy girly (haha I guess that goes for the both of us!) Sometimes it is a bit terrifying to know how much the little kids watch and imitate. My parents always told us older ones that we are the example and that the littles look up to us, but knowing that they actually do is both a cool and scary feeling. I love you Bethy!

More pictures coming tomorrow :)

In Summer

Bethany and I enjoyed some sunshine today, I told her we were like snowmen in summer...

"Bees'll buzz, kids'll blow dandelion fuzz
And I'll be doing whatever snow does
In summer
A drink in my hand, my snow up against the burning sand
Prob'ly getting gorgeously tanned
In summer"

"Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle
But put me in summer and I'll be a happy snowman

When life gets rough I like to hold onto my dreams
Of relaxing in the summer sun, just letting off steam
Oh, the sky will be blue, and you guys'll be there too
When I finally do what frozen things do
In summer
In summerrrrrrr!"

Bethy getting gorgeously tanned!

Precious sissy time :) I love that she wants me to hang out with her. I haven't been feeling good for the last couple days, so I've had some time to just enjoy being home with the family. Bethany has been my little buddy; we made paper dolls, tanned, ate ice cream, and listened to music while we soaked up the sunshine.
